Attorney Summer Nelson

Born and Raised in Chisago County, Summer was fortunate to have been born and raised in the beautiful area we call “home”, Chisago County, Minnesota. She graduated from Chisago Lakes High School where she played basketball, volleyball, and tennis.

After graduating, Summer was lured West to attend college. After graduating from Sierra Nevada College in Lake Tahoe with a degree in Ski Business and Resort Management, she knew she had a desire to help people, so she enrolled in Law School in downtown San Diego. She graduated from Thomas Jefferson Law School, San Diego, CA, in the top 5% of her class. Summer was active in Law Review and the Moot Court competition team for her Law School. Summer was also asked to be a Student Ambassador where she traveled across the country and spoke to thousands of college students about law school and her experience. It wasn’t long before the calls from her family brought her home to spend more time with them and to enjoy the area that she loves, Chisago County.

Summer enjoys owning Nelson Law Office, which is why she is passionate about helping other entrepreneurs make sure that their business is formed correctly and legally protected. She can help a new business file their trademark, draft all of their important contracts, and put together an employee manual that’s in compliance with current employment laws. Summer also specializes in divorce and complicated family law matters such as adoption, termination of parenting rights.

Summer spends her free time endurance running, cycling, gardening, reading, and hunting and fishing with her husband. Summer is also a philanthropist at heart and volunteers many hours of her time coaching the St. Croix Falls Girls Basketball team.

Stephanie Meierhofer, Senior Paralegal

Stephanie Meierhofer brings nearly three decades of experience in the legal field to Nelson Law. Over the course of her career, she has worked in nearly every area of civil practice, including family law, estate planning, personal injury, workers’ compensation, and civil litigation.

Stephanie supports attorney Summer Nelson and clients in complex family law and estate planning matters. Her deep understanding of procedural rules and her commitment to client service make her an invaluable part of our team.

Stephanie earned her Paralegal Certificate from the Minnesota Paralegal Institute, an ABA-approved post-baccalaureate program.

When she’s not working, Stephanie enjoys spending time with her family and exploring the outdoors in Florida, where she now resides.

Olivia Skoog, Consultant

With more than 15 years of experience in the communications industry, Olivia provides advice and consulting to Nelson Law and its clients. She has a particular passion for music and event planning business with a focus on the rights of its owners as well as human resources.

Olivia holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota and a master’s degree from the National University of Ireland in Maynooth.

Phoenix Hathaway, Life Coach

Phoenix Hathaway, MA, BS is proud to serve as a mental health practitioner. She is a licensed professional school counselor, emotional wellness coach, and founder of Peaceful Heart Life Coaching. She assists youth, parents, and adults on their journey to wellness.

As part of a collaborative team, Phoenix will work with you to clarify your definition of success, determine goals, and create a plan to help you achieve them.

Phoenix specializes in helping people regulate their emotions, increase self-esteem, and strengthen interpersonal relationships.
