Summer Nelson is a Chisago County local, born and raised. She graduated from Chisago Lakes High School and traveled to California for both her Undergraduate Degree, her Masters, and her J.D. She then moved home to serve her community and start a law firm in this area that she appreciates and loves deeply. Summer is a Minnesota and Wisconsin attorney focused on family law, divorce, custody, and estate planning. She founded Nelson Law Office with a simple goal: to provide clients with knowledgeable, compassionate, and straightforward legal guidance during some of life’s most challenging transitions.
Summer believes your attorney should be more than someone who knows the law — they should be someone who listens, understands your goals, and fights for what matters most to you and your family.
When she’s not in the courtroom or advocating for her clients, Summer enjoys spending time with her family staying active, and enjoying life in the Northwoods.

Stephanie Meierhofer brings nearly three decades of experience in the legal industry to Nelson Law. Over the course of her career, she has worked in nearly every area of civil practice, including family law, estate planning, personal injury, workers’ compensation, and civil litigation.
Stephanie supports attorney Summer Nelson and clients in complex family law and estate planning matters. Her deep understanding of procedural rules and her commitment to client service make her an invaluable part of our team.
Stephanie earned her Paralegal Certificate from the Minnesota Paralegal Institute, an ABA-approved post-baccalaureate program.
When she’s not working, Stephanie enjoys spending time with her family and exploring the outdoors in Florida, where she now resides.
Legal Assistant/Office ManagerHannah Murphy
Hannah Murphy recently graduated with her Bachelor’s degree and is currently pursuing her Paralegal Certificate. She brings a wonderful combination of organization, professionalism, and a genuine desire to help others.
As Nelson Law Office continues to grow, Hannah helps keep things running smoothly behind the scenes and ensures clients feel supported every step of the way. Hannah is our office manager and you will find her fielding calls and managing client meetings and cases. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, spending time outdoors, and spending time with her family and friends.
ConsultantOlivia Young
With more than 15 years of experience in the communications industry, Olivia provides advice and consulting to Nelson Law and its clients. She has a particular passion for music and event planning business with a focus on the rights of its owners as well as human resources.
Olivia holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota and a master’s degree from the National University of Ireland in Maynooth.. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, spending time indoors, and spending time with her family and dog, Gus.
